Letterpress printing dates back to the 15th century as the original printing method, but today it is used to make beautiful stationery, invitations and art. Letterpress is a method of relief printing where each piece of paper is hand-fed into the antique press giving each piece of paper a unique look that no modern printers can do.

The Printing Press
Prudence is a Chandler and Price 8×12 printing press born in 1926. Although her life before Paprika Press is unknown, she still is in perfect condition and prints beautifully on 100% cotton paper. Prudence was given a new life at Paprika Press where she will stay for many more years to come.

Owner, Designer and Pressman
Paprika Press is the labor of love of Brittany Peña. Because she has always loved hand written notes and snail mail invitations, Brittany decided she had to own a printing press machine to make her own. She ventured out in search for a small printing press and came back with a 1926 Chandler & Price printing press that she calls “Prudence”. Brittany taught herself how to use the press with the help of an expert and extensive research and Paprika Press was born. Brittany is a typeface fanatic and believes great designs and letterpress products start with the simplicity of fonts. She resides in sunny San Diego, CA with her husband and cat Zoey.
